Therapeutic Massage:
A massage that gives your whole body the opportunity to experience long gliding strokes, gentle kneading and stretching and just enough pressure to unwind those places where the everyday stresses of life tend to settle-in. If desired, deeper pressure that connects with the connective tissue of the body may be incorporated.
European Hot Stone Massage:
Hot Stone Massage is like relaxing on a sun-warmed beach. The use of water-heated basalt stones allows you to experience a unique connection with nature and the serenity of basking in the summer sun. This deeply relaxing therapy involves the application of stones of various sizes to key points on the body, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth. The penetrating heat softens tense muscles, melting knots and stress away. Especially helpful for relief from fibromyalgia, chronic pain, arthritis, for athletes, and for those recovering from injuries.
Craniosacral Therapy:
There is a core rhythm in the body that is created by the system that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. This rhythm or motion is translated throughout the entire body. Where there are restrictions in the body they will show up as a lack of this motion. By using gentle manual techniques, the practitioner helps to release these restrictions in the body and central nervous system.

Integrative Energy Work:
The concept of working with a person’s energy to effect healing has been rooted in ancient cultures for thousands of years. It is based on the idea that our life-force energy (known to many as spirit, prana, or chi) extends beyond our skin into an “energy field” that surrounds and interpenetrates the body.
All life experiences, both positive and negative, are recorded and stored in the energy system.
There are three major parts of the body’s energy system: the field (aura), the energy centers (chakra’s) and the energy tracts (meridians). Before any physical, emotional or mental condition materializes in the body, it is reflected in the energy system. Illness is influenced by imbalances or blockages in the energy system, therefore, working with the energy system directly, helps or assists a person to heal. Practitioners use gentle touch to the body or just above the body to re-establish healthy energy flow, allowing the individual’s own healing powers to take over.
A number of studies show significant reduction in pain, including cancer pain, following a session, along with improvement in immune and nervous system functioning and increased mobility in patients with conditions such as multiple sclerosis, lupus and fibromyalgia. It is also very helpful to individuals who are dealing with grief issues associated with death of a loved one, divorce, and any other life altering events.
Integrative Energy Work can be given at all stages of illness and is especially beneficial for situations in which the client has a difficult time tolerating touch. Janet incorporates Healing Touch, Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki, and Intuitive Information received from Angelic Guides in her Integrative Energy Work.
Some of the benefits of Integrative Energy Work:
- Alleviates pain and stress and promotes restful sleep, healing and relaxation. Promotes a host of benefits for the mind and body including a heightened sense of well-being, release of muscle tension, and relief from anxiety and depression.
- Helps restore and balance all systems of the body. Western (allopathic) medicine recognizes that a period of calm, or the ability to enter a state of calm is imperative for health and well-being. Essential Harmony Energy Work offers the client the space to enter that state of calm.
- Triggers the relaxation response in the body (“rest & digest”), the biological reaction that activates the parasympathetic nervous system (PSN) which is responsible for repair, maintenance, restoration of the body, and immune system functioning .
- Helpful to those persons dealing with the death of a loved one, are going through the dying process, or are dealing with other life changes.
- Is especially helpful for those persons who have special challenges such as CFS, fibromyalgia, neuromuscular disease, multiple sclerosis, lupus, shingles, pre / post surgery, or are recovering from an accident or injury. Benefits persons of any age and in any state of health. Offers comfort, nurture, and support for the good health and balance of the mind, body and emotions.

Reiki:
Reiki is a Japanese word translated as Universal Life Energy. It is a holistic healing system addressing problems and healing at all levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It is neither a religion or a belief system, but a part of an emerging field of energetic healing, rediscovered from the wisdom and knowledge of ancient cultures and used in modern times. Reiki can be used to maintain health and energetic balance in a healthy person, to heal illness, injuries, emotional and spiritual problems, and to ease the transition between life and death. Reiki goes directly to the source of the problem, even if it is unknown to the practitioner and the client and heals at a level and intensity that a being is open to receive.
An ancient Japanese technique, Reiki uses a gentle form of touch therapy which produces a state of deep relaxation and helps to balance the human energy field. It can help alleviate physical pain, relieve emotional and mental distress, release energy blocks, boost the immune system, promote wound healing, increase blood flow, and relax the body in general.
Reiki principles:
- just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings
- just for today I will not worry
- just for today I will not be angry
- just for today I will do my work honestly
- just for today I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing
Reiki for Animals:
Reiki is gentle, painless, non-invasive and stress-free for animals. Reiki heals at all levels of an animals being, it is always safe and comfortable for both the practitioner and the animal. Animals are much more sensitive than humans to energy in general and fell Reiki energy immediately and strongly.
Reiki helps animals to let go of unresolved emotional issues and move into the present and future with a lighter heart.
Treatments are always at the animal’s home with the owner present.
Medicine Card Readings:
Medicine is anything that improves one’s connection to the Great Mystery of Life, to all living things. It is about energy that helps heal the body, mind and spirit. It is anything that brings personal power, strength and understanding.
Animals exhibit patterns that send messages to us if we are awake enough to receive the message. All messages from nature are lessons about life. All lessons allow us to add power and strength when needed during out time on earth.
Gaining knowledge and understanding from the animal kingdom is a healing process, is gaining knowledge, is allowing oneself to be humble and grateful for the gifts that are forever coming to us on a daily basis.
Learning to call upon the animal world for guidance one must maintain an attitude of reverence and be willing to accept assistance. Each and every one of us has nine power or totem animals that represent medicine we carry with is on our journey through life. The animals represent our abilities, talents, and challenges: the positive and the negative.
There are seven main totems which surround our physical bodies and correspond with the four directions: East, South, West and North. Also there are the directions of above, below and within.
These seven directions are complimented by two additional directions that help on your journey by protecting your left and right sides.
Sweat Lodge Ceremonies:
The sweat lodge symbolizes the womb of Grandmother Earth and the heated stones represent her body, which supports all life. The fire that is used to heat the rocks represents the source of all life and power. The water slowly releases the heat in the stones, which rises as steam and permeates the air to create a hot, humid atmosphere conducive to manifestation of the particular intent of the ceremony.
Every tribal group has its own traditions. Overall, there is no right or wrong way to engage in a sweat lodge ceremony, other than to enter the lodge with an open mind and be prepared for cleansing of negative emotions, healing of physical ailments, clearing of mental concerns and/or releasing of spiritual blockages. Intent with integrity is the key to the positive outcome of the ceremony.
Sweat lodge ceremonies will be on Sunday afternoons and by appointment only. Minimum of three participants per lodge, with maximum of six.
Shamanic Drumming Circles:
Shamanic drumming is described by Native Americans as the heart-beat of Mother Earth. This beat or vibration is the pulse of life and it affects all physical conditions. Vibrations can be used to restore a normal healthy pulse with in a person. The drumming circle provides a sacred space for individuals to come together and share the vibration of the drum and connect with nature, Mother Earth and each other.
Soul Retrieval:
In shamanism it is believed that part of the human soul is free to leave the body. The soul is the axis mundi, the center of the shamanic healing arts. Shamans change their state of consciousness allowing their free soul to travel and retrieve ancient wisdom and lost power.
Because a portion of the soul is free to leave the body it will do so when dreaming, or it will leave the body to protect itself from potentially damaging situations be they emotional or physical. In situations of trauma the soul piece may not return to the body on its own, and a shaman must intervene and return the soul essence.
Shamanic Extraction Work:
Shamans work with the spirit or the soul and they work with energy. In the case of shamanic extraction they are working with misplaced energy. No energy is truly bad from a shamanic perspective. If energy is misplaced or it isn't in accord with the environment (the human body, or the body of land...) it will bring illness.
Shamanic extraction is the removal of displaced energy, sometimes called intrusions. This is energy that does not belong in the body and may cause illness.
